This 1931 bedroom would not have been out of place in any home of the period. It is essentially Colonial with the cannon ball twin beds, candle stand, and arrowback desk chair. A wing-back chair is just visible in the lower left corner. "Modern" aspects of the room include the blue and purple grid pattern on the floor and the plain chenille bedspreads so typical of the period.
The colors are fairly dark. The blue and purple floor, purple floral area carpets, and dark mahogany or walnut furniture are mitigated by the beige walls and the white bedspreads. Task lighting is strategically located for working at the desk or bedtime reading.
