1926 Standard House Plans: The Davenport

The Davenport is a fun little house with its rolled roof and bungalow style. It's side gable roof and centered gable dormer and sturdy columned porch make it pleasing to the eye without being fussy. In about 1400 square feet, it manages to deliver a few nice features in addition to the three large bedrooms and requisite living spaces. Included are a small sewing room, sun parlor, walk-in pantry off the kitchen, and a breakfast nook. Large under-eave storage is available for each upstairs bedroom, but any additional requirements would be served by a basement.

"One of the greatest possible assets a man can plan and develop for the future safety of his wife and children is a home. If every man had the backbone and stamina to build for his family a substantial home like The Davenport, charitable institutions and orphan asylums would soon go out of business for the lack of inmates."
